Asurka Shinto is the main protagonist of Food Wars!:The Blind Warrior. He is a 92nd Tōtsuki Generation Student and he is the only child of Kai and Kelly Shinto,who always wear a blindfold over his eyes and by many at Tōtsuki, he is mostly known as 'The Mysterious ' because of how he is able to cook with his blindfold on. He currently owns his mother's family diner and he keeps it running from time to time. He is very close to Megumi Tadokoro to the point of being close friends with her and always willingly to take off his blindfold around her and he is romantically interested in her.

Asurka is a very calm and intelligent boy,who has a unwavering drive to always want to improve his cooking mostly due to his strong bond and relationship with his mother,Miranda and his love for his mother's cooking and her diner. He is very confident in his skills of his cooking,but he isn't willing to show it off to others or even involve himself in Shokugeki that would be requested in and challenged of. He mostly thinks of Shokugeki as "pointless" and "a waste of his time" to not involve them at all unless he is provoke enough to actually accept one. He is usually considered as a mysterious and silent type of person by most of his classmates,who barely knows him or seen as acquaintances to him. He's rarely the one to interact with anyone unless he knows them or if it's necessary in class or something.
When it comes to Megumi, he is willing to drop everything he is doing and he will help her any way he can no matter what. He will be very gentle and encouraging with her than anything. He has unwavering belief in her and her cooking, and he will threaten anyone who thinks differ to the point of doing food wars with him to make them shut it. He loves her unconditionally since the first day they met each other and he is willingly to put his happiness on hold for hers. She is one of the people he trusts to let her take off his blindfold and see his eyes at any time, and he is very supportive of her. He shows off his more softer side of him than anything and way more expressive to the point of being comfortably with her and knowing her presence so well even with his blindfold on.
